I have not added a post to this blog now since I left Mexico in July, but it was a great experience for me last year and I thought I would catalog my new adventures in the same fashion. First, I am embarking on another educational opportunity that I never thought possible. I will be attending Columbia University in New York City as a graduate student starting June 25th. There was a time that I did not feel an opportunity like this could happen to a girl from Brownsville, but when the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance. I am so excited and will be studying to become a principal in a 15 month intensive course study.
I have met a few of colleagues from my cohort and am excited to be working with such a diverse group of people. I hope in time they will see what I bring to the table with my experience and personal background. I will use this blog as a sounding board and almost a reflective channel to communicate with family and friends. I look forward to learning and sharing more...to new adventures ahead!
