James Pace High School...

Another year has begun at James Pace High School... I am embarking on my 7th year at Pace, and I must say I am still learning and loving every hectic minute of it. I don't know if this will be my last year at my Alma Mater, but I will say that I will bleed green forever! It's football night tonight... I'm not sure if I'm going to the game. It is an out of town game, but I think I need a little football fever!

I don't know what the future holds for me... this might be my last year at Pace High School... I don't know. I do know.. that I love my students this year... they don't want to do their homework, but they will come around. I love my colleagues...I have a great bunch of people who I work with. And I love my school... more to come soon... I promise... I won't be so neglectful.

My inspiration...

The book, The Alchemist changed my life and why I have made the changes and taken the risks I have in the past years. I want you to hear just a little piece of the introduction from the author, Paulo Coehlo, himself:

Oscar Wilde said: “Each man kills the thing he loves.” And it’s true. The mere possibility of getting what we want fills the soul of the ordinary person with guilt. We look around at all those who have failed to get what they want and feel that we do not deserve to get what we want either. We forget about all the obstacles we overcame, all the suffering we endured, all the things we had to give up in order to get this far. I have known a lot of people who, when their personal calling was within their grasp, went on to commit a series of stupid mistakes and never reached their goal—when it was only a step away.

This is the most dangerous of obstacles because it has a kind of saintly aura about it: renouncing joy and conquest. But if you believe yourself worthy of the thing you fought so hard to get, then you become an instrument of God, you help the Soul of the World, and you understand why you are here.
