Anticipation of a new semester...

I am sitting here at the Teachers College library trying to organize me thoughts for a new school day tomorrow. I found myself fortunate to meet witht he new Summer Principal's Academy cohort coming in and starting tomorrow. As Vice-President of the SPA Council, I, along with the president and chairman, welcomed the new cohort to a challenging summer semester. I was happy to meet with the rest of my cohort today, and as last year, we are wondering what is going to happen during tomorrow's classes.

I am excited because my friend Tamara is here with me this year, and I am thankful to her for helping see what this program has to offer. It's still so hard for me to wrap my head around what I have to do, but I have to do it! The readings for my Law and Ethics class are numerous and wil keep me up most nights. Well... I guess I should stop procrastinating and get down to business. Talk to you soon!

My inspiration...

The book, The Alchemist changed my life and why I have made the changes and taken the risks I have in the past years. I want you to hear just a little piece of the introduction from the author, Paulo Coehlo, himself:

Oscar Wilde said: “Each man kills the thing he loves.” And it’s true. The mere possibility of getting what we want fills the soul of the ordinary person with guilt. We look around at all those who have failed to get what they want and feel that we do not deserve to get what we want either. We forget about all the obstacles we overcame, all the suffering we endured, all the things we had to give up in order to get this far. I have known a lot of people who, when their personal calling was within their grasp, went on to commit a series of stupid mistakes and never reached their goal—when it was only a step away.
