Official Notice: If you want to be saved by the American Embassy from harm... you will have no luck. This place is on total lock down, and is cold as ice. I could not take my camera, my purse, a key, a lipstick, I´m surprised I even got my body in. Even with nothing on me (except my natural qualities if you know what I mean), it still took a good 10 minutes to get in. I was thoroughly searched by a handsome man, but even that didn´t satisfy me at the time. The visit was extremely political, questions were shielded, and the staff was stern in their presentation. Good luck asking for sancutary there.
Oh yeah, we couldn´t see the Marines on guard; security was provided by the local Mexican government. The Marines are only there to guard important "top secret" documents, not Americans. If it came down to saving my life, or a piece of paper... well, let´s just say I´m glad I have insurance...
